David is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, with degrees in political science and Russian. David received his Master's degree in Oriental Medicine from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe, New Mexico, after completing the four year, 2500 hour program of study. In 1997, David earned the highest mark in the nation on the Chinese Herbology National Board Exam.
Besides pain relief and management, David specializes in cancer treatment support, digestive issues, emotional conditions, such as anxiety and depression, and allergies and asthma. He began clinical practice in 1997 in Kansas City, Missouri, including volunteering acupuncture services at the Kansas City Free Health Clinic. He moved back to Atlanta in January of 2003, and has made extensive efforts to bridge the gap between conventional and complementary medicine within the greater Atlanta medical/health community. This includes lecturing to support groups and medical professionals, such as at The Wellness Community at Northside, the Piedmont Cancer Wellness Center, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
In addition to acupuncture and Chinese herbs, David often addresses the topic of nutritional supplementation, making recommendations while emphasizing the need for monitoring possible interactions with medications. The need for the integration of Western and Oriental medicine is at the heart of David's philosophical approach to healing.
